Bhaktapur Darbar Square

The Patan Palace, which defines one side of the urban square, is comprised of several distinct courtyards, three monument pagoda temples, a stone step-well and bath, as well as two later palace wings. The latter record early European influence on Nepalese architecture. The complex is a living monument for its numerous active shrines including Degutale, a major tantric shrine of importance to the entire city.
